5 highlights of southern Mallorca

Cabrera

From Colonia de Sant Jordi it is easy to find a boat tour which will take you to the island of Cabrera, the largest of a group of islands in this archipelago, which was established in 1991 as Spain’s first Marine and Terrestrial National Park. Just 10 nautical miles off the south coast of Mallorca, this is the perfect location for discovering wonderful places to hike, snorkel, birdwatch, photograph, or just relax. If you prefer to charter your own boat, be sure to contact us. We can arrange this for you.

Es Trenc beach

One of, if not the most famous beach in Mallorca, Es Trenc beach is located in a national park and as a result is the last large natural beach, which remains unspoilt by big hotels and dozens of restaurants. More than two kilometres long and covered with fine-grained, bright sand and backed by sand dunes, the turquoise water gives this beach an almost tropical look. Shallow waters mean it is also perfect for children. Popular with naturists also but these sections are clearly marked.

Cala Pi

A beautiful Cala situated in the south of the island and an ideal place for snorkelling. However, be prepared to do some serious steps, 147 of them lead down to the narrow beach, which is sandwiched between two cliffs, offering amazing views with the contrast between the sandy beach, crystal clear waters, dramatic rocks and lush vegetation.

Market day in Llucmajor

A touch of the normal local life awaits you in Llucmajor, and what better time to experience it than market day which is held three times a week – We3dnesday, Friday and Sunday. On Friday there is in addition a flea market. The car free centre in front of the Town Hall is full of authentic cafes and bars, perfect for a rest after a full-on shopping experience.

Puig de Randa

Rising 543 metres above the plain, the Puig de Randa is home to 3 separate places of hermitage. Oratori de Nostra Senyora de Gracia, is perched on a ledge on the cliff above a sheer 200m drop. Further up is the Santuari de Sant Honorat and finally Santuari de Cura. The latter also has a restaurant where you can enjoy the views across the plain below.
